9th Aug | Diary of a Godly Kid – Godly Attitude
It’s great to see you again. We are back with our second week learning how to be a Godly kid, this week we are looking at Godly attitude.
Overview of Today’s Lesson
Main Point: Count your blessings and keep a good attitude.
Bible Story: Exodus 16:1-23. God Provides Manna and Quail.
Memory Verse:Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. -1 Chronicles 16:11 (NIV)
Summary: Sometimes things just aren’t going our way. But we can keep from grumbling by remembering that God is taking care of everything.
We encourage you to discuss the bible story with your child/children and encourage them to answer the questions. Please pray with your child/children at the end of the discussion time.
Icebreaker: What is your least favorite food? Could you learn to be thankful if that was the only thing you had to eat?
Discussion Questions : Read Exodus 16:1-23
- What does it mean to have a godly attitude? Putting others first and not grumbling and complaining.
- What are some of the things you’ve complained about in the past week? Get your child to think and pray about this.
Close in Prayer :
Thank you for all that you have done for us. Help us remember our blessings so we can have a good attitude.
Godly kids have good attitudes. Sometimes things just aren’t going our way. But we can keep from grumbling by remembering that God is taking care of everything. Exodus 16:1-23. God Provides Manna and Quail.
HANGING OUT: Make this week’s lesson real: When your kids complain about something this week, ask them to stop and think of three reasons they should be thankful instead of complaining.
AT DINNER: Here are some great discussion starters:
– Why did the Israelites complain in the wilderness?
– How did God provide for the Israelites’ needs?
– Did the Israelites ever have a reason to complain? Do we?
AT BEDTIME: Quiz your child on this week’s memory verse: Look to the Lord and his strength; seek his face always. -1 Chronicles 16:11 (NIV)
